Reason #2: Dumb people have more children

Dumb people have more children

Dumb people have more children

Heebie jeebies on overdrive!

These overproud and publicity loving Christian extremists have raised the “be fruitful and multiply” tenet far above the “treat each other like you want to be treated” rule they claim to instill in their brood in interviews. It takes little imagination to picture the truly nightmarish world we’d struggle to survive in if every couple on earth had 18 (and counting!) babies, generation after relentless generation.

And I think they’re actually on their way to 19 or 20 at this point, by the way.

You see, while Idiocracy is a very silly movie, its premise is exactly correct: stupid people procreate much more quickly than smart people, and stupidity is at least partly genetic. Therefore we will continue to get dumber over time, and at an increasing rate.

Which means an infinity of Republican administrations in the future.

If you don’t believe me do a google search on the Duggars. You’ll find a lot of blogs that talk about how blessed by God the whole thing is. Quod Erat Demonstrandum.

Wow Jamie…that’s really hateful and not at all mature, thoughtful, or respectful.
    Time to grow up.

Jamie uses the spelling, punctuation and capitalization of a not very thoughtful person. All in all a pretty typical blog/youtube/myspace commenter.

On the other hand having that many children in the 21st century is actually a somewhat hateful and definitely violent act against other families and the environment and they need to be called on it instead of fawned over and given a tv show. Wanton overpopulation is not cute.

I get the sarcasm and the humor, but more importantly, I get that this whole thing, this obsession with these people who are clearly out of their damned minds, is disturbing to “normal” people.

I grew up the way those children are and it was surreal and weird and wholly unhealthy in every way. I had to completely turn my back on religion and all the crazy BS that goes with it in order to finally have a decent life and enjoy my own little (one child, one husband) family.

Thank you for being one of a few voices out there brave enough to tell it like it is with this ridiculous reality show. Why it even has air time is a supreme mystery to me. What do they possibly add to the national conversation that is at all helpful in finding solutions for living better, longer, healthier and more thoughtfully in our modern world? Not one thing.

Thanks for letting me rant. And I agree with sensorrhea when she says “Wanton overpopulation is not cute.” Well said.
